I just recently purchased a Splitfire tacho and when i asked at my local autobarn what it cost to install, they said $50, or $150+. It depened on wether the need a specific part and that they would only know once the connected it and check to see if the tacho was giving incorrect readings. Can anyone help me with this issuse, should i be able to connect the tacho without any other parts/issues?

Thanks for your help

Edit: My car is a 1996 Honda Civic CXi

So let me get this straight you have or havent found the blue wire going from the coil to the drivers side firewall??? (it has a black cover on it)

Run your "rev" wire through the grommet on the firewall out to this wire in the engine bay and just splice the 2 together. This can be done with either an easy crimp or just oush the 2 wires together for now to test. Just make sure that they have good contact.

Make sure that IF there is a switch on the back of the Tacho it is set to 4cyl and then start your car.

If you have got it all hooked up correct you should now see the idle revs (usually around the 750-900 range). Give it a few test revs and if all is well make sure that you have all loose wires zip tied out the way and enjoy.

If you havent got that working you may need to go back to Autobahn and ask them for a box of sparks for the grinder also.
