Hey is that that cap that says 710 on the engin? Because i dont know wat oil is. LOL lol hahaha NArh Jokes sorry in a weird mood this arvo.

Me, i use Castrol Magatec, 10W-40. Honda OEM Oil id 10W-30 But I find megatec works a charm. Besides i dont get it serviced at the Dealer cos they charge Arm and a leg. I've got a honda specialist, he was at a dealer some years ago, but now has open up his own bussiness and specialises in hondas alone. So yeah any advice i need about Honda i just ask him. He said i should use 10W-30 or 10W-40 Anything outside of that gets a rough for the engin. anyways, just got my car serviced and Works a charm. I Change the oil in my car every 5000km. Just remember any oil is going to be cheaper than an engin replacement.

Since your accord is a 94' and have been using 20w-50, It would be better to go 10w-40 first, and see if you burn any oil. Going from 50 to 30 might be too big a jump down the viscosity, and you might get oil going pass the piston rings with 30.

20w is quite thick for cold startup, so 10w would be a good choice.

just be carfull when choosing your oil.
F22B engines sometimes are not very forgiving if you get it worng

OEM FEO all the way for me

Get it from your Honda dealer. It's about $27 and it's a 10w-30 mineral oil made by castrol to Honda's specifications.

You sure your Honda dealer specifically puts in Honda FEO? My dealer sells FEO at the spare parts department, but when they service the car they put in Magnatec 10w-40!

I looked it up on my receipt/invoice and that's what it says.

What is it anyway (besides oil)? I have no idea.:D

i use Motul Turbolite at the moment, before that either Shell Helix Ultra or the Honda FEO. All have been fine.

Thought about it a lot, made a number of tech calls and finally decided to use an Aussie oil Penrite HPR5 SAE 5W -40 as recommended by the Tech guy at Penrite. he suggested this oil over their full synthetic after asking me a few questions on how and where I drive. I detect no difference when I changed the oil at its 10,000km service.

i use motul oil. 5W-30.
poid, isnt motul turbolite 10W-60? cuz i heard that using it in a road car that is used for daily driving is a waste of time and that it will just use more fuel and rob you of peak power compared to 5W-30 or 0W-40.
Apparently the 10W-60 is designed for highly stressed engines ie race engines as they spend most of the time on peak revs. I could be wrong however?

ive got a 94 accord and have been using 15w-40 Valvoline Synthetic fortified. D engine seems to be quite happy w/ it and is a cheaper oil than d magnatec 10w-40.

isnt FEO 10w-30? gen 5 service manual doesent recommend using that in temps over 35 degrees. thats a bit of a prob in summer in brisbane...

So it looks like you'll be going for 10w-40 oil instead.
