Hey, just a noob question, did the Japanese Domestic Market models differ in anyways to our local S2000's?

JDM has Sat Nav, different rims and slightly higher power output (but that's arguable :D) off the top of my head :)

JDM has 183.87kW @ 8300rpm, 217.7Nm @ 7500rpm and weighs 1240kg ('00 model) vs our 1255kg ('05).

Also, JDM '00 model had Bridgestone S-02 with 205/55 R16 (F), 225/50 R16 (R) while AUDM '05 model has 215/45 R17 (F), 245/40 R17 (R).

And JDM has the option of VGS, variable gear steering.

from my understandings and observations.
the Pre-facelift S2000:
both JDM and AUSDM:both have 205-55-16 front, 225-50-16 rear set up.
but JDM: 6 spoke rim, AUDM: 5 spoke rim. plez correct me if i m wrong

off course ,after facelift (in late 2003 I think ) , 17" rims are fitted.

wat is VGS?
Variable gear(ratio) steering. Depending on your speed, the steering ratios are varied to be less sensitive at high speeds and more sensitive at lower speeds.

Don't forget the new JDM ones have a 2.2L engine instead of the 2.0L F20C...

Huh? Aren't hardtops an option all over the world?

That's only for this year. Previously, only the '04 USDM S2000 had the 2.2L.

hardly fair to compare weight between 00 and 05 models as im sure they have added extra bits

The 2.2 cant rev as hard right?

Yup, 2.2L revs up to 8000-ish only. But although they are specced at the same power as the 2.0L in the US, vtec.net's dyno found that the 2.2L puts out more power.
