yeah hopefully the 5-7 series and E-S class buyers can be swayed, i heard 80 grand, which isnt in my price range, but for what it offers is damn cheap, it comes close to a 500 benz, for 1/3rd the price

Unless I am mistaken the MDX is up and around the $80k price tag??
Did anybody else get the issue of Wheels which had the review of the new Honda Legend? It is going to be a nice car. I can nearly gaurentee that it will not be or will not be much below $80k that is for sure.

Regards,
Steve

MDXs are 69 990. im sure once you find a competitive dealer, you wouldnt pay too much more than that.

They are both 3.5L V6 engines, but the MDX comes with 195kW while the Legend should have around 223kW

80 grand? Only if ours comes from Thailand hehe. Anyways, I doubt it'll be cheaper than the ES300, probably closer to the GS300's price point.

In that Wheels issue didn't they estimate the price would be around the 100k mark?

I think it's going to be one of those car where they sell it at a lower profit to boost Honda's image. Just like the Accord Euro.

Could be, but I personally think Honda will try to boost their prestige image with the new Legend and they can't really do that if they price it too low. Honda wants to bring the Acura badge to Australia, this could be the first step. Not saying that the Legend will wear an Acura badge but I'm certain that the following generation will.

My god! I just had a look at some US sites. A Lexus LS430 costs $56,000!? What the hell!

It's not that Hondas are priced too low here. It's that Lexus, BMW, Mercedes and Audi cost too much here. If you look at the price of the TSX, it's quite similar (just slightly lower) to that of the Euro Lux. BMWs on the other hand are 1/2 the price. A 325i costs only US$35-38000. Look at OZ pricing! Over AU$80k

IS250, there never was an Acura range in Australia. I don't think they will bring the name tag to Australia however they might bring some models over here?

He knows that there was never an Acura here. BUT, they are wanting to bring the Acura brand to Australia. I hope they do. Then all the SUVs and lux cars can have the Acura badge, while Type Rs come back under the Honda badge.

And because an Acura can be more expensive (double the price of a Honda if they want to match BMW), we could get a Civic Type R badged as an Acura for a $50,000 price! (And people might buy it if they are after something to rival the 1-series!)
