Hi all,
I am not sure this it the right place to ask this kind of question.
My civic just had steam clean of the car seats last few days. As you guys know sydney has been raining alot. After the steam clean(i shouldn't have had the car stem cleaned) all car seats were wet. it took few days to dry. Finally, it feels dry today. however, the car seats are so stinky. :( is there any way to get rid of the bad smell. damn! shouldn't do the steam when is raining.
Please help!
Cheers!

use eucalyptus oil and put some on .. its mold thats stinky
oh my .. this is a tough one... i guess best thing to do is to take alll the seats off and let put them somewhere under the sun .. hoping that the sun could take the smell away...

The outside of the seats may be dry but the foam inside may still be wet with mold growing freely.
U could try using a hairdryer to blow into the seat and hope it dries up properly and maybe spray some anti-mold(?) into the seats.
Either way, the smell should eventually go away after a few weeks of hot weather. If it rains, afterwards leave the car idling for an hour with the heater on and windows semi-open.

it had a little bit of sun yesterday. I put it under the sun had all the windows open. It seems the car don't smell that bad as before. Hope the smell will go later. Thanks you guys for the advice!

i got some pretty stinky car seats too so i've been followin this thread - i've tried febreeze, and leavin it in the sun - not working.
are the rear seats (the bottom part) of a civic coupe(EJ8) the same as the rear seats of an EK? think i'll just have to get myself new seats. where can i score these from and about how much do ya reckon they'll cost?

I got the glen20 and spray all over the car seats. i had the windows opened abit. just to let the air flow. i will let you guys know how it goes. actually, after i put the car under the sun and spray the glen20. the car seats don't seem to smell that bad now. i hope the glen20 really does the job and not just the cover up. haha....
look- this is going to be unpopular with you tight arses but there is a very easy way of getting rid of that smell-
first take your car to a proffesional detailer and then ask him to treat the interior-
these guys have something called an ozone generator- you know that stuff in the sky?!
Yeah- its great it saves us from uv and other stuff- but in its pure form its lethal to mold and alike- they put your car in this tent- and fumigate the bastard- the mould then dies, smell gone- your wallet is left considerably lighter- but its way cheaper than another suggestion on here.

i have a machine that produces ozone and it gets rid of smells really well, takes about 15min to 1/2 hour and it works wonders!
My friend moved house afew months ago, and the place stunk pretty bad! I used my machine and it cleared up the smell and made everything fresh! Btw the room was fairly big too
Only troiuble with producing ozone is the fact that it can make you pretty sick if you come in contact with it.
I've never used it on a car, but i got no doubt that it would be fine :D

hey here's an idea. buy one of those fabric softener refills. You know the ones in the squishy plastic tubes? - then just leave it on your seat. You can even choose your favourite scent.
Hey - the guy with the ozone genarator-
want to do my car???
Willing to sort something out-
my car has had rain pour in-
i left my car windows open during a storm-
anyway- yeah pm me with details-
otherwise ill just take it to a detailer

Hmmmm..... Why not you try to get your seats retrim by a motor trimmer? Your interior will not only smell nice, it will look nice too!!! :) It will cost a bit more but this is the time you will have excuse to retrim your seats! HeeX04!!

Johnnie
