i've tried using a nail, screw, screw driver with wd40 to whack it out
but no go

took the C clip off
and i can't hammer the damn thing out
i've tried a few things and it won't budge
attacked it with heaps of wd40 and it just refuses to move

Find a bolt which is just bigger than the inner diameter of the aptly named "bitch pin" and hammer until you can't lift your arms. It is really really gay, but eventually you get it.

Damn it felt good to put it back in i'll tell you what.

finally got it out
used a rachet-head screw driver to knock it a couple times then used a phillips-head drill bit to hammer it the rest of the way through

my ek9 shift links feel sexy ;)

glad to see you got it out, that's always a son of a bitch if you don't have a houst. took me ages, smashing it out from under the jack stands.

So the EK9 linkage made a big difference to your shifts?

Go down to Bunnings or any hardware store and get a 8mm Hole Punch (just covers area of pin ), get a hammer and tap it out. Yes removing it is a bit of a bitch to get out, but it will come out eventually. ( thanks to Ben & Sam for helping me out on this 1)

definately, smoother and firmer feel while shifting. i think that the throw has been reduced also and the shifter doesn't wobble around as much.
problem is i'm finding myself needing to actually aim for gears unlike the stock ek4 shift links where it just popped into place by itself.

exactly :)

Takes about 2 or 3 good wacks ~ dont forget to catch the pin when it flies up and back down (into ur eye or nose lol)
