the headers r made from different material
98+ came in 4-1 design

the 96 models came in 4 stud whereas the 98+ came in 5 stud
the 98+ came with hid's
dats all i can fink of right now.

bigger brakes on 98 spec.

NO SRS airbags in 96 spec.

4.4 FD for 96

4.7 FD for 98

refined ecu and exhaust+headers in 98

some of the difference in power form aus to jdm spec should be from the exhaust system and the ecu

as stated. the most significant changes would probably b the larger diameter wheel/tyres, from 15 to 16 and also from 4 to 5 stud. brake rotors front/rear were increase larger. 98 model comes wth full stainless steel header providing more torque at low revs. and yea final drive for 96 spec is slightly lower.

well if u only goin for the front cut the diffs are the just FD is diff..4.4 to 4.7...98 gets 4-1 headers...and also the 1st 500 96 JDM were hand built...but after that they designed machines that did a finer job..id go with the 98

96 jdm is little faster then 98 jdm in 1/4 mile...
cause of gear ratio....
