I love meeting new honda owners, and was looking through the spotted thread just then, but dam....... it's ****en huge and to hard to keep track of. You guys reckon they should split it up into states or capital cities? Might make it a little easier to identify/find owner of particular hot cars you might spot :)

dare i say a good idea - but in all honesty there is a very small percentile of Ozhonda's posting IN that forum - not so hard to keep track of ?
Ill move this to site discussion if there is any other talk of it

good idea... however we'd need a way to organise it coz stickies for each state would be messy

Have one main thread
and then have sub state threads
 that would be awesome, and i think more people would like to check it out more often coz there would be more chance of the spotter and spottee making contact

i think its a good idea too. firstly, ppl dont often state their exact location (ie states), lucky enuf there's a street name, if not then its just a name of a certain landmark. i find its a little harder for ppl from other states aprt from sdy :p to follow the thread. because the thread is quite frequently used by sdy users, ppl not from sdy will hav to go thru several pages to find any tat are spotted at their local area. whcih i think discourages alot from even wanting to check. sub states may help i reckon :) :)

There's no such thing as 'sub threads' that can be made. We'd have to make a sub-forum but that's not happening as discussed awhile ago.
Good suggestion but it can't be imlemented unfortuantely.

seriously, is the spotted thread really that useful ?
person 1: "spotted ***-123 at whatever st"
person 2: "wow, yeah i was there, what were you doing"
person 1: "looking at your car"
person 2: "cool."

why make fun of it? it is a good idea for a sticky thread, alot of ppl use it.
unfortunately its kinda become a sydney based thread. i think duy's idea is good and i know i would visit the brisbane thread, but as you mod's said it would be too messy and probly take alot of site space.
can it be done though without it being too messy?

Well the thing is there is no such thing as 'sub-threads'. You can only creat sub-forums......and a sub-forum for each state is a bit drastic

Well the thing is like I said we can't have a 'thread per state' as it would be too big. Other option is seperate sub-forums for each state. But that's another story LOL

God forbid you have to create a few more threads. There's already a million others out there that are useless now. :( Why not split up the spotted thread so at least those who are interested (me not included) can navigate.

Problem is that you have half the first page of the lounge being just stickies. That's what I meant.

How would you 'split up' a thread? Not sure what you mean here.

And so is ozhonda right...?
It's only useless cause it's just the same people spotting the same cars that they already know. Should be used for trying to meet new peeps or something along dem lines.

spotted thread is gay full stop.
ok from a newcomer's perspective, when i 1st saw that thread i was xcited to MEET NEW PEOPLE, thus the purpose i thought of that thread, but when i went through 1st few pages, i gave up on the following reasons.
1, not enough detail in the comments, they should have a set way of describing the spotted car/location etc so its easy to read n follow?
2, too many useless comments it becomes a chat thread, and the purpose of meeting new ppl is neglected, maybe chat should be kept in PM?
3, too many pages, not good for ppl like me who have no patients reading all those meanless msgs with only 1-2 relevant. maybe say delete the 1st few hundred pages thats outdated?
anyways just my thought on the subject, cos for me after i just got my car, would love to meet some who also share the same enthusiasm that i do with my car, thus y i joined ozhonda :D
anyways just my 2cent, not tell how mods should run the site :)
cheers all!
ps. sub-division of the states would be sweet
We didn't want a Spotted Thread from the beginning, but due to the deliberation of our regulars, we've decided to put one up.
And now - it seems - that it would've been easier if we had left it the way it was, ie. each Spotted Threads be posted individually!
I say we leave it as it is, but the lounge mod *cough*Loz*cough* just need to celan it up periodically :)
aww now they have a sticky spotted thread - NSW (EDIT: NEW) .... :(
i want one for VIC :D
