Tinting Windows!

anyone recommend a good place or knows someone that can remove my old tints and replace them with darker ones?

how much does tinting cost these days? its only a ek hatch so not that big of a job?

the only company i know is Sol Ace? are they any good?

No idea, but I'm interested aswell. I wanna get those reflective tints, but I'm guessing they are illegal? Anwyay, anyone know how much etc.?

i know the number of someone who does the tinting for the factory cars at mazda.. AKA if you bought a new mazda and wanted tinting this guy is the one contracted to do it.

He also does peoples cars in his own time from home. Real professional job and its cheap.

Anyone like me to get in contact with him and see if hes able to do this for any of you?? (Syd area only.. i think he lives in artarmon or hornsby)

theres a really good place in hoppers crossing if you can get there. $250 for either 35% or 20% (illegal)

kEnsHi when he does the back window is it done in 1 piece or 3? thats just one thing to look out for when getting your windows tinted, some places do it in 3 pieces and hide the cuts in the demist lines.

i can give u the name of a guy who does coloured tints in brisbane man, pm me if you want his detials ;)

Contact "Civic Si" (Hanson) on these forums. He has a mate that will tint your windows for you. If you have seen his EM1 windows before you will be like :P

um i got mine done at tint professor for $260, wasn't too bad of a job, but i recommend u go to premier tint, im pretty sure they charge around 210-220 for darkest legal (20%) back. a few of my mates went there and it was just as good as mine for 40 bucks less

you can get mirror tints done, they are illegal because they are meant for houses, not cars :P but anyway, master tint will do it, i think it was bout 350 for a mates lancer??...

Sol Ace did my windows, and they are perfect. Worth the extra prices they charge. They also do it quite quickly, less than 4 hours, and don't **** you around. I recomend my local Kirawee Sol Ace behind the Toyota dealer on the corner of Princes Hwy and Waratah Street. Great guys, no crap.

yeh im thinking about spending the extra bucks and going to sol ace,

they also do, some thing where if they begin to peal or bubble after a few years they replace for free... or something like that i heard!

do they charge to remove the old tint! im thinking about going 15%-10%! nice and dark!

i can give u the number of the guy who did mine, he did 20% for $200 and its a good quality job. he does also sorts of tints (i.e. mirror, 5%,15% etc...)

uses the best tint only aswell and he can do watever % u want

they are legalised now. 33% or whatever the darkest legal is, and its impossible to see in :D but its legal ;)

i was quoted $350 + removal of any old tint [$50] to get it put on. Thats by "Mobile Tinting" ...

i have a full one way silver mirror tint on my civ, and yes it is illegal!!! i got defected about two months ago for having it on! ( whilst they got me 4 being to low hehehe) it looks great from the outside but sometimes it can be hard to see from the inside in certain conditions! Go with a real dark tint! thats my suggestion..less hassels!

Rules changed this year mate ...

Last year my friend wasn't able to register his car with his tint on, they said he had to strip it [beginning of 03], then he got it re done after, and this year when he regoed it they said it was fine.
