Hey all,
im having a bit of problems. When i drive at around half throttle or less, my car suddenly loosed power at around 3000rpm. The power loos is so sunned it jerks u round, almost like letting go of the throotle completly. If i then give it more throttle, the car continues like nothing happened OR if i just give it throttle from the start, it will pass 3k without a hiccup.

n e one know what could couse this?

thnx

Well that problem sounds very familiar with my EG - it turned out to be the spark plugs and I had to keep it above 3000rpm to keep the engine alive. Basically I degreased my engine and degreaser got into the spark plug holes causing misfires (I had to remove the gunk in the spark plug holes). So check the spark plugs and replace them if needed.

I guess another cause could be a distributor problem. You may just need to replace the Dizzy Cap, or possibly replace the Dizzy Coil.

Check your spark plug gaps and wear
Check your leads at night for cross-firing(pop the bonnet without any lights on and open the TB a bit, is there any 'lightning' between the leads?
Clean your throttle body
Change your fuel filter

check your ecu for fault codes.

no it would not be on all the time.

ecu can have codes in it, and the engine light can operate corectly

sounds like a ignition problem too me also.. possibly a dirty TB but id hazzard a guess that it would happen throughout the rev range if it was the case.
