Im about to get a DC5R and I would want to spend about $6000 on mods + installation what would be the best parts to get. I want a bit more power and i want to hear the thing really open up! lol I live in Sydney if that helps.
I know everyone is going to say use the search button, but i have read the bang for your buck thread and it doesnt really say prices just small budget etc.
Thanks :)

For $6000 i would do the following:
Injen CAI - approx 500$ Install yourself
Catback exhaust - Just buy a second hand one like a Fujitsibo Powergetter or Mugen Twin Loop for good gains and a quietish sound or Buddy Club if you want something very noisey with good gains. Probly cost you around $800-1000
Toda Headers - $1500ish plus install (you will also need a whiteline sway bar to fit these which is about $250-300)
Hondata ECU - About $2000 including tuning
For the remaining $1000 i would put that towards a set of coilovers - Fulcrum have Tein SS which have spring rates specifically for AUD Type R's and they cost about 2k.
With the above mods you should achieve 130kw+ at the wheels and will be a reasonably quick car..

130 kw at the wheels = how many at the flywheel? 180?

Im a bit of a noob when it comes to cars, can you explain what each mod does.
thanks : )

130kw at the wheels would be close to 190kw at the flywheel.
Basically the ECU allows you to tune the car properly and get the most power from your modded car, a lot more than what you std ecu would allow.
The intake headers and exhaust allow the car to "breathe" better. The stock intake and exahuast is very restictive and by changing to aftermarket parts allows for a huge increase in power. More air you can get into the motor and out the more power you can make - in simple terms.
Hope that answers your questions..

i would rather spend the extra money on the lightened flywheel, heavy duty clutch, lower final drive, Exaust and air intake but that might push you over the 7-8k mark

i would say cams would be a good mod, thats if you already have intake, exhaust, headers and ecu. :)

TEIN coilovers are good on the R, don't just think about kw only at least do something about suspension/handling.
