hey guys i live in adelaide.....not the best place, but not the worse. Theres lots of demand for car audio and that but not a lot of places that i can think off. Just wondering if any SA people know some good places to install audio gear, alarms etc. The only place i knew of is complete audio and they changed owners i think and are jacking prices up.

Would appreciate it heaps if any SA people know of great services, audio, engine etc

thanks in advance

Is this George (Cornelius) from what was GT Autosound?

For car audio stuff i can think of tonkins, autobarn at mile end, tisonics on magill rd (also do alarms, all of the car alarms at our house are from them), jb hifi at marion, strathfield, car toys on port rd.

Where you go really depends on what parts/work you want done, can you specify at all?

Well i do want some reliable installs, autobarn i know but i don't really go there

installing a aftermarket headunit placement, and a alpine dvd deck

If you want a simple install, then there is no point spending big bucks at places that do full custom stuff

I had my deck and sub/amp installed in my teggy at tonkins in the city and have not had a single problem.

Tonkins also price match and unlike other places (e.g strathfield, JB and autobarn) they specialise in car audio.

lux tv, most places that pride themselves on 'custom' as you call it do also standard installs you know, if they were all doing custom they would never be able to pay the bills on time, think about it :)

Ive always gone and seen Chris at Compete Audio at Wayville or Angelo at the Compete Audio store at TTP.

Ive had my last 2 car installs done by them and they always provided a reliable service, fast and efficient. and if there was any issues with the install after, i took it back to them and had it fixed straight away with out costing anymore...

so you went to another store who has no idea on custom work now you want George to make you something? I find that pretty funny hahahahaha :p

Nah it wasn't about custom work, i actually bought a aftermarket dash, from FX that fits into the euro in the glove comparment below the main unit. I have seen actual photos of the deck installed and working in a few accord euros. However it wasn't with the deck i have. So it works fine, i also got my alarm installed at tisonic, but it hits my audio knob and so i can't see the screen fully, i can still see it but its pretty hard.

Soooooo it needs to be brought forward but to do that i need a custom mount otherwise it will look butt ugly ( having a deck half way out) Its either that or i change my upper dash which i really don't want to do because the aftermarket one looks ugly.

But besides that alarm works fine, and it was installed nicely.
