hi, my mate has got an eg civic with a d16y motor in it. If he was to turbo charge it(bolt on), wat sort of power is he looking at gaining. Also how much boost etc can he run max before changing pistons/conrods etc? Has anyone turbo'd that motor here that can tell me by experience? 1 more thing iz roughly how much do the turbo bolt on kits go for?
thankzzz...!!

dude, should be in the forced induction section, and if you searched, you would find everything needed to know....

also go have a read on turbod16.com

120kw at 8psi, 130-40 at 10psi. this is for a small t25 sized turbo.

not much power if you want the motor to last. The rods are piss weak and then pistons are not far behind.

With a good tune, they can hold 200+whp(I've seen 230ish personally last quite a long time) without a problem. I'd say 100+hp over stock isn't exactly "piss weak".

D16Y's a good for bolt on turbo systems as their compression are fairly low at 9.8:1. My GF's civic was pulling 157wkw @10psi for 6 months before we took it apart to rebuild the engine.
