Hey guys, just been reading up a bit that EF suspension will bolt straight up to a DA chassis and just be a tad lower? Has anyone tried this? I'm thinking of buying some full EF coilovers then trying to fit them to my car, but I don't want to purchase them if they aren't going to fit well etc.. Also, do the EF8 and EF9 share the same suspension?

yes it has been done, but you have to check your lower front forks. some da9's have the slightly wider cuff for the ef shocks to slide into, and some have the smaller ones. My suggestion would be to buy ef shocks, springs and forks all together. You also need to make sure the rear ef shocks have the Y shaped base and not the ring type, because then you would need to get ef or itr lower control arms.
if what i have said doesnt make sense to you i suggest you go to g2ic.com and search for the hybrid suspension thread.

if your buying coilovers why dont just buy the right ones as coilovers will be low enough? or buy a shortened coilover kit i use drummond motorsport in my ITR

I have EF rear shocks on my DA and they have given me lots more travel and a much safer captive spring.
As JETYPR said though, suss out the DA coilovers first cause you may realise that they will go low enough for you whilst providing you with enough travel.
I thought FFR33K had posted up a link or .doc file to the EF/DA suspension article. Have a look for it; if it's gone then I'll post it up.

Hmm, yeah I've read the article but I just wanted to know if anyone on this particular forum had done it so I could get some live opinions on how they fit. DA coilovers are a bugger to find, and 2nd hand EF sets are quite easy to find on yahoo auctions etc. Might have to settle for the Koni Yellow/Eibach Pro Kit solution.
