Hi guys,

is the P72 OBD1 5 speed USDM ECU
similar to AUS spec?

would it work in an Australian teg?

has any1 had any experience using a p72 USDM ecu in aus spec car?
is there any major differences?

looking to hondata my teg but need OBD1, wondering if USDM will suit

Thanks fellas

it will only work if your teg is OBD1

if not, you need an adaptor harness OBD2 -> OBD1 and it will work fine...

so there's no differences? ECu's are pretty much the same?
like is there differences in fuel map's etc?

I was thinking of doin the same a while back. But the problem i found was that no one will tune it unless your brought it in oz. This was from james(blkcrx), i'm not sure what the finer details are, but make sure you look into it before you jump on board.

no one will tune an oversea's hondata. hondata has nothing to do with the ecu u by.

you got mixed up BFB, (or maybe James mixed you up)

none of James' "Authorised tuners" will tune the hondata unit if the hondata unit was purchased overseas, (but anyone else can tune it...)

it wont matter if you buy the actual ECU from overseas...

The USDM P72 is configured for additional sensors whech the US cars have over AU.
The timing & fuel maps are slightly different also, however none of the above points are problems as any aftermarket solution, be it honda$a or whatever, can over-ride the sensors & tune the ECU accordingly.

your ecu will work, for best result, like said above put the AU ROM in it to suit our fuel.

USDM also have injector test circuit built into the ECU. no real advantage

You may most certainly use that ECU on any Honda Vehicle along with Hondata, if you have any questions please call me on 0417 875 785
