Well, i think you cut 4 inchs of uncompressed spring. You need to cut 4 inchs of whatever the compressed spring is. Measure when the car is sitting on the ground.

On to more important stuff

- Cutting springs will result in a very bouncy/rough ride due to bump stop slappage
- You will damage your stock shocks, most of your bushes and could even damage many more things under the car
- You car will handle like balls
- You probably will get massive tyre wear due to hitting the gaurds at full lock with tyres
- You will get massive inner tyre wear due to camber.
- Insurance will be void when you hit anything, illegal modifications.

Eitherway, enjoy the low car buddy

if you want to lower the car, go buy some lowering springs... chopping coils is absolutely retarded.

further more, in an eg crx, if you're lowered 4 inches, you'd have about an inch of ground clearance... making it nearly impossible to drive.

At the very least, go buy some $30 coil overs off ebay... they're far from good, but 1000 times better than just cutting coils off.

he did buy sum lowering springs that wer made to bout 3 inch, but he duzn seem to be happy with the height as he wants the rims to tuck under the gaurd lol

And so, how will he steer with more then 10 degrees of turn?

If you want looks, get some air suspension buddy. Then at least you can drive the car safely on the road and dump it when parked.

Thats pretty dangerous man chopping springs, hope your not planning on driving your car hard. Coz your suspension will bottom out very easy, which will cause you to crash. Its actually happened to a friend of mine.

And you wont be covered by insurance. As saxman said, get on ebay and get some cheap springs. They wont be good, but they will be a lot better than chopping springs.
