I'm in the market for an EK Gli hatch, auto (gotta get auto, mum doesn't wanna learn manual... lol)

First question is, did EK's have have a hoodliner under the bonnet or was it just bare metal?

Another question, what the hell is this? (sorry about quality, took it with my phone and it was a lil dark.)

It was orange/brown in colour and somewhat sticky. It was found on the underside of the bonnet, suspension tops and near the battery.

Lastly is about the alignment of the rear bumper. When i was inspecting the car i noticed the rear quarter was repsrayed, a fairly bodgy job as well since there was no clear cloat, had a rough finish and there were a few runs. According to the owner there were a few scratches and someone he knew resprayed and said " I cant spray just a small area otherwise it'd be too easy to notice, so i have to spray a larger area" This larger area included a third of the rear bumper, and a fair chunk of the rear quarter.

Now my question is regarding the allignment, when i had a close look where the rearbumper meets the rear quarter panel and tail lights, it didn't look aligned. The lights and quarter panel were flush however the rear bumper was slightly (about 2-4mm) indented, which exposed the edge of the rear quarter panel. I compared it to the other side of the car and it was the same, had the slight indentation as well.

The rear wheelarch seemed misalligned as well, the rear bumper didn't sit flush against the rear quarter panel. The edge of the bumper was about 2 mayb 3mm out from the quarter panel.

sorry, no pics about the allignment issues.

Any info would be great!

ive seen alot of ek where the bumpers arnt 100%flush
looks like it comes like that from factory?!! its not a bmw its just a honda so you cant expect it to be perfect... but yea if its been in an accident the most likely it wont line up. i hate buying cars that have been in accidents, they might drive fine for the test drive and fine for a couple days then you start hearing all creaks and rattles...
looks like the owner didnt really look after the car that well either

I realise that the car isn't a bmw or a merc, I probably wouldn't of had thought to much of the indentations since its pretty even on both sides, and it is a civic after all, not some uber expensive car. But it was just how one side was resprayed and the other sides wheelarch wasn't flush made me question on how the other said it hadn't been in any accidents.

i bought my car with alot of dents and scratches
i like it that way, nothing suss
its expected from a 6 year old car!

id never buy a car thats resprayed or with excessive damage
all these candy apple cars are just such a turn off to me when it comes to buying
