Check the oil pressure. If it's not in spec, 10psi idle hot/40psi 3krpm hot, then you need to dig deeper into the oil system. Oil change, filter, and check the pump. Also check the solenoid, pull it off and clean it out too. If that doesn't work then take it to someone with a scan tool to see if it's turning on.

"another vtec feel off" comment - no offence bludger :D:D im thinking Honda should be recalling cars cos of all the vtec falling off issues...

Try and be more detailed. At 5800rpm vtec does kick in or it doesnt?

What do you mean pop upen?

Try and make a vtec test light and hook it up to the ecu...

Try and be as detailed as you can, and use good english if you want some serious help.

maybe you're expecting vtec to have some sort of nitrous F&TF kick, well it doesnt, its hardly noticeable unless you know what you're listening for.

When i had never been in a vtec vehicle, i asked my mate what vtec felt like??
i was into turbo nissans then and this is was he told me " vtec??? when vtec engages, think of having a turbo half the size of you t28 and it not spooling up at 2000rpm but at 5500+, thats what vtec feels like" and true enough when looking for a integra, i drove vtirs and gsis and couldnt feel the difference.
