Recently i had my air con bearing replaced and regassed as well. Now i was expecting it to be like a freezer but its actually quite shit.

Put it this way....its just as cool as having the window down....which isnt saying much.

I never used the air con much before having it fixed and cant really remember how cold it was before...surely it would be much colder then it is now?

Can any other dc2r owners tell me what their air cons like?

In general honda aircon's crank, my DC2R's aircon works really well. Where did you get it re-gassed? Maybe they under or over gassed it which results in the aircon running poorley. My old civic had that problem when it was over gassed.

hahaha

Maybe the condensers are much smaller in honda's???? The air con in the toyota camry kicks ass.....ice cold.

Does anyone know what the official temp should be from the factory?

did they use proper air con gas and filled it all the way and checked for leaks?

I heard ppl put lpg in there or something.

Or maybe its their just talking down other businesses so you'll stick with them.

In my old EG Si I hardly had to move the fan more than 2 with the ac on. Unless of course I was getting into the car after having it parked in the sun :)

As said....its possible it wasn't regassed properly.

1. Check refrig level
2. Check fuses and wires
3. Check/replace relay
4. Check/replace pressure cycling switch

Good luck and let us know how it goes

yeah i tried it again this morning....and it wasnt much cooler. Mind you this was at 5am so there was no heatsoak to speak of in the car.

Basically i had the bearing in the compressor replaced and the system emptied, checked for leaks and regased.....well thats what the invoice says.

I'll take it back next week and get them to look into it. Right now im thinking the temp is around 25 degrees. Should be at least 23.

I've actually noticed that even in my dc5s it takes about 5-10minutes for the AC to produce cold air... before that its all hot yucky air...

SUCKS!!!!

Its normal for an airconditioner to take a few mins to get cool.

Mine sucks...REALLY bad. On a hot day, it can take over 10 minutes to "catch up" and cool the car down, which sucks if it's a short trip, I HAVE to wind my window down.

I have a feeling it's got something to do with my tint aswell. Tint is kinda ols, so the heat protection is probably really crap. That and combined with a heatshield on my windscreen would help alot from keeping the heat out of my car in the first place.

I'd love to know if theres a fix to make my AC better though.

well as long as the air from the vents are cool that is the main thing. Because you ahve to understand that it takes awhile for the entire car to get cool (as most of the cool air that comes out of the vents displaces the heat in your seats/dash/door trim etc).

Same goes for a house on a hot day!
