When does VTEC usually engage for your accord anyways?

Best to search/google/research/find out when exactly VTEC engages and then come back to this problem Solo :)

It might just be that VTEC engages at 2500 RPM.

In the meantime, I'll just move this to the Accord forum and see if any other Accord owners can help you out.

all sohc vtec engines engage vtec at low revs, its the way they were made.

its the twin cam vtec engines ( b16a/b18c/h22a ) that flick to vtec above 5000rpm.

Not all SOHC VTEC engines activate the system that early..The Economy VTEC engages quite low,The Balance VTEC(i.e ACCORD) is mid range and the Performance VTEC system(all twin cam engines)are activated at around 5500-5800..where exactly have you run the power wire for your light from?

puahaha....thats awesome solo. Vtec light on a lux car y0! Well thanks for doing that, cos i dun even know when my vtec comes on. haha...cheers big ears

EDIT:

Quotes taken from http://www.v6performance.net/forums/showthread.php?t=18418&highlight=vtec+engage

On the 4-cylinder Accords, the VTEC engagement varies depending on the driving situation. It can engage as low as 2200rpm or as high as 3600rpm. At full throttle, it usually engages at 2200 for the most power.

AND

between 2300 and 3900 based on manifold pressure.

AND

between 2300 and 4700 rpm based on manifold pressure on the F23A, or something right around those numbers. It's a dynamic point, not a fixed one like on a lot of other hondas.

So...hope this helps Solo...I learnt something doing this too actually.

Cheers
