i have an '87 civic sedan, but it is becoming a bit old (and slow) so i want to upgrade, hopefully to a 93 or 94. what i want to know is, i was recently informed that a VTI IS NOT V-TEC. is the VTI the best engine in these models? is there a VTEC (not crx) in the civic...anyway, hope someone can help. what should i look for.
ps, if anyone is looking for a 87 sedan, pm me
You should look at sticky up the top
but im summary onnly VTEC engine in the EG series is the Vti which is a SOHC VTEC. Peronsally Si > Vti *winks at benji*

And the EG SiR II I think?? But thats a different story.
Anyway, have a look in the usual places like trading-post etc. and I'm sure something will pop up.

There should be plenty of eg civics around, i recently just got my civic 94 vti (yes it has VTEC! 8) ) around 2 months ago for $10,500 w/ ONLY 79,000 kms from a wholesaler selling at a private cost, would normally cost 2k extra. I usually check like carpoint and trading post sites, they usually sell at around $11k.
The VTI is the best engine in these models except if you can get your hands on jdm SiR/SiR II or just get a Vti-R (appears in eg civics 95-00)
gluck on finding one, it shouldn't be too hard
