Really sorry, this is totally off-topic but I didn't want to start a new thread.
Can anyone tell me if a Ferio 4 door Civic would be JDM or not? Where abouts where they delivered?

Thnx.

Why buy that kit when for an extra couple grand you can get a kit with GT28 roller bearing, manifold, cooler, proper powder coated piping, decent ecu, injectors etc. ;)

I said $4.5k with Intercooler and piping...

Wtf is wrong with the Greddy kit?
Weq is running a Greddy kit with larger injectors and different cooler and he doesnt have too much bad to say about it, aside form the emanage limitations.

Instead of just slagging shit off with your all knowing expertees why dont you enlighten us with something more than just your opinion.
Afterall alot of us are here to learn....

:?

Was i slagging off the Greddy kit? I didn't mention anything about Weq or his kit. I didn't say i know it all either. I just made a simple suggestion.

Why do people get so uptight about a simple comment? With an attitude like that you won't get much help from me.

If you want to start a shit fight your comments contradict your statement of "Wtf is wrong with the Greddy kit?"

Well, as you mentioned (and i don't know much about Weq's kit so i assume you 'know it all'), Weq had to get larger injectors and a better cooler. Also, the emanage has limitations, which means that upgrading that will help a whole lot.

Therefore, what is wrong with my comment? I was just suggesting small upgrades for a small price that will overcome issues you will run into later on. Sure you can apply the 'patch it up' fix to the Greddy kit for certain things but why buy that kit and spend more money replacing/upgrading stuff when you can just build your own kit for a little bit more $$$ and have a much much better turbo kit.

Stop wasting my time by posting up a stupid comment in the first place that is unjustified.

geo41e - It all comes down to what you want from the car and turbo kit. Have you got a budget?

You could get the kit, but then it will be sitting in you garage waiting till you have the money to get it bolted on ;)

fked if i know ...

my question to the people :P Greddy kit is about 4.5k or something landed right ... so how much will it cost me getting all this bolted on, front mount and all ...?

am VERY interested in doing it :P

Weq i need your knowledge :D

The greddy kit is a good unbuilt/street kit. I definatly recommend it f u want to DIY. very OEM. The 19T kit has 310cc injectors and a biiger blower. U can keep all ur AC/PS/stock radiator fans (which is a limitation of most equal length/SS manifolds) For a stocky bottom end, its perfect, but it doesnt have much upgrade potential. You will need a turbo (which means new downpipe and possibly manifold) if u build it.

Whats the best value? It depends on ur goals. Set a goal an stick with it.
Should u go a custom kit and possibly save money? ONLY do this if u can bolt everythong on urself. Labour will be a bitch, any mechanic will have trobles and will change u as such. Labour will near $1000.

Un an unbuilt D, a BB turbo is a waste. They cost a heep to rebuild, and most dont even start to get into there effiency range until 10psi (warning gross generalisation). Let alone ur looking at atleast 1500++ for one.

a boosted d@10psi will have the balls to be a type-r killer, but driver skill is also needed.

In that case you would be looking at a kit like the Greddy. Do your research though because there are many turbo kits out there for Civics. Don't rush into buying a kit though and find out later that you could have bought a better one at the same price or cheaper.

If you want to stay local check out AVO Turboworld's kits. They are in Melbourne though, but should be able to freight everything to Sydney. One of the biggest bonuses with their kits is that they are fully ADR'ed. :)They can be reached on 03 9584 4499.

Alternatively, piece together your own kit.

Installation isn't all that hard. If you have someone that is willing to help you (who has done a turbo conversion on a Honda before) you could do it yourself easily. You will just have to get the car tuned by a workshop. If you want to pay someone else to install the who kit, expect to pay at least $1000 plus tuning. Labour is not cheap.

Hope that helps. Fire off any other questions you have.

By the way, how many kw's does a Type-R pull at the wheels?

i think the ITR pulls in the 90ish kw's.. depending on the dodginess of the dyno :D
therefore something like weq's set up should well and truly beat a stock Type R

So there you go. Up to $5k for a turbo kit + installation and you can be beating Type-R's all day long. :D
