Hi,

Can you all please help me out?

I have my civic, and it can't rev over 9,000rpm and i have a programable ECU, won't wanna tell out 1st still but will soon, the 1st gear was not bad and 2nd,3rd and 4th doesn't seem to go that well...i think lost of power...and it suppose to rev over 10,000rpm, but it stops around 9,000rpm, may i know wats the problem?

The Stupid tuners said it will go around 13 sec mid..but the last time i tried was 14.3sec quarter mile on a drag strip...and remember, i've put hell lots of stuff in already...and being won by a standard ITR, my car is with a 1.8 stroker kit..with high comp piston, and high lift cams, and all the necessary parts to rev high...

but now i'm having a headache trying to figure out wats the problem..please help me to solve my problem...and if you don't get me, please shoot out all the question, i will be willing to shout out all those shit...

please help me people...

Exactly what internals and what ECU do you have?

Have you only recently got the car back - or did it use to rev that high

Depending on ECU, might have the rev limitter set at 9 - what happens when you floor it and the revs get to 9,000rpm - does it feel like it is hitting the rev limiter??

i sit hitting 9k while driving or are you stationary when testing it??

lolz, obviously ur tuner is a pro. cos u rev past 9k but u stroked the engine out...

sounds abit stupid to do that man

i have high lift cams about 295 degrees in/ex
Upgraded valve springs
Titanium Valve Retainers
and got my head done....with stroker kit with high comp piston and rebalanced engine...my ECU can holds up to 16,000rpm as the manual Book guide saids...alot more...

i try to rev pass even at 9,000rpm passed out...just stuck there...and you can know that it won't go pass it...fuel cut i think...i'm not sure..thats why...

you mean my tuners are a pro?...HAHAHA...don't even think so...and they are really DOGGY and JERK to me...they keep on denie that the car has been done properly, but i've sent an email to Sydney, they reckon that they distribute the stuff, and they think the tuner's i've been to is just some shit place, it should have lots of torque and high end power...reckon is should have another 15kw at the wheels...but now it seems that the 15kw and my rev is gone...soo..i'm lost...

the ECU i'm using, i don't really wanna tell out...not for privacy, just for safety reason...

stand still i haven't tried reving it...and i don't know when's the limiter cut...but driving it..i did tried, but can't rev...and i felt lost power in 2nd,3rd and 4th gear...

any answer guyz?

sounds like a rev limiter is kicking in

Yeah rev limiter, tell us what ECU you are using instead of keeping it hush hush and maybe we can get an answer, after all it controls your whole car.

Cheers,
Javed

something like autronic...hmm...the rest is up for you guyz to figure it out..

autronic has no rev limiter unless u set it out. autronic computers are as good as Motecs, ur ecu isnt the problem. pm me about this if ur unsure about it at all bud, cos i got an autronic too, and its a great computer.

McChook, a very simplified answer: its stupid to stroke an engine, giving it a longer stroke and different angle than factory, whilst u want to take it to high rpms where u really want to have a smooth engine to maintain the overall integrity of the internals. Yes it can be done, and is often done, but im(humble)o, its stupid to do so.
