5 Zigen Pro Racer A spec for Euro

Guys,

Just having a look at the 5 Zigen site and they do a cat back system in their new A spec Pro racer muffler series with dual mufflers- CL7/9.

Has anyone got this on their euro or heard anything about its performance?

Which site are looking at? The US site only lists it as a single muffler...

It's OK -- the site lists it as LH single but the PDF lists it as L/R single!

5Zigen has 3 different cat back exhaust for the CL7/9

the proracer A spec single muffler
proracer A spec dual muffler
Proracer GN+ single muffler.
Both single mufflers are RHS mufflers.
The A specs are JASMA approved therefore pretty quiet. I've got the A spec single muffler on my CL9 and the INJEN CAI is louder than the exhaust.

Performance wise, butt dyno doesnt feel a difference. Doubt an exhaust can make much of a difference, maybe if i changed the headers, there might be a more significant power increase.

If you want a nice exhaust, try looking at the J's racing 60RR titanium single outlet exhaust. (the muffler tip is blue and looks like a limp dick)
sounds great, very light due to its titanium structure.
Hondar can get it for $1595 which is a pretty good price imo.

yea i agree with Sulley the j's racing is a nice exhaust. for $1595 is good value too :thumbsup:, i think the model name is 60RS the 70RR is designed to run with jdm header, no cat and no resonator.

yeh mine is single and sounds very smooth and not loud (but then again due to having 1 resonator and 1 hot dog design)

what about power wise? Any significant increases?

feels more free when revving, but when i did it i did it with SRI intake too so it revv'd better

2-4weeks later i changed headers and hi flow cat and it made the biggest difference.

if you like quite, it suits you. But if you want load, better get J's. Deep sound then HKS.

when warm if no background noise it's very crisp (not deep)

Do you like the sound of it? From memory it was quite soft..i was surprised..dare i say softer than the fuji.

Yeh it is quieter than fuji by a little due to fuji running 1 hot dog only and 5zigen runs 1 hotdog + resonator.
But it's a diff sound to fuji.

But another thing is i didn't want my exhaust to be loud so application wise it's good for me, plus when i am WOT you can hear it with my intake, ask integral90 about what my car sounds like WOT.

The dual muff looks diff... my tip is actually longer outwards.
The 5zigen tag on mine is on the side.
I was looking at your rear photo and it looked a bit funny cause they are shorter and stumpier.

Has anyone installed an aftermarket exhaust by themselves? I dont think it will be difficult but just want to find out if there are anything that i should look out for..

make sure you have some bolts to replace stock bolts.
make sure you have some liquid exhaust gasket to seal the flange sections.
if you have a manual jack it comes in handy if you don't have another pair of hands to help you hold the exhaust.

for ease of install put the car on jackstands.

liquid gasket forms a lip to fully seal the contact between the exhaust and the cat or cat and headers..

if it comes with gaskets i'd still use liquid gasket just to be 100% sure it doesnt leak.

looks like that exhaust is going to be gone very soon. i called the guy and he said that someones looking at it at 4pm today .. and he's received two offers of 550 and 600 already.. but the time i get home and then drive up there.. it'll be sold to someone ..

someones definitely going to grab a bargain.. if i didn't already have an exhaust .. i'd leave work to go get it :)
