Hey,

I just wanted to know if anyone knows how hard it is to change a cross member in a em1. My cross member is bent and i've bought a new one from an ek8 and now all it requires is fitting. Is there anything i should be aware of when i take my old one out, such as the whole engine block falling through the bottom?

Thanks.

Um the engine is held in place by the Engine Mounts

You may find that when you remove the cross member that you engine may drop a cm or 2 but that is taken back up when the new one is bolted back in place.

How the hell did you bend the one that you have on there in the first place?

engine and gearbox will be supported by the top mounts

you best remove the stearing rack at the same time, so you will need to undo it from the front knuckles and undo its oil lines, then undo it from the colunm., drop your exhaust as it will be in da way, then undo the lower control arms from the member, unbolt it. just make sure nothing is holding onto it.
