to get engineers u must upgrade front brakes at least, your looking at low 14s with headers, cai, exhaust plus an avarage driver

high 14s? i would expect more from a 900kg car with like 100kw at the wheels

JDM_type_R
17-02-2006, 04:39 PM
well it all depends wat sorta brake and suspension set up u get so u cant really say for sure, could cost 8-10k including half cut, brakes and suspension

JDM_type_R
17-02-2006, 04:42 PM
high 14's i doubt it, my mate jspecaccord ran 14.4 with just a catback exhaust and short ram pod in a H22A powered accord

JDM_type_R
17-02-2006, 04:43 PM
should run low 14's from wat ive been told about other ppl doin it

I did 14 flat in a JDM type r 96 spec with power windows and interior, it should do a high 13 with the right driver.

who said high 14s?i said low 14s,eg hatch dont weight 900 kg thats false information they weight 1040kg with the type r engine being close to 30 to 40kg more heavier so thats 1070kg + driver

Yes EGs are closer to 1000kg rather than 900kg...

Here in Perth all you have to do on the legal side is go to pits and change engine number, I had a eg sedan with B18C2 (Vti-R) it took me 5 min to do legal side, just fill in eng change form, if you go over 2.0l you need engineer cert so even if you put K20 in it's very eazy to get it legal, but this is WA.

One of my friends (owner of honbits in perth) use to have eg with JDM B18C-R, mugen headers, mugen exhaust, mugen suspension and Type R brakes, he was running high 14s, but it was his first time at drag strip as well, and car was spinning wheels through 2nd and 3rd gears, with right rubbers (slicks maybe) and bit of practise it could run low 14s high 13s, his peak power was at 9000rpm, it was a rocket, at wanneroo race way he was one of the fastest, I think that only NSX was better then him. I think that his car was in Hot4s once.
