I doubt it, the trend in Japan seems to be towards getting away from turbo due to emissions laws rather than the other way around.

Would be nice...Honda has a turbo jetski so never say never

The "KEI" cars made by Honda in Japan always had turbo, ala City Turbo, Z Turbo. Nothing amazing though. Just 600cc turbocharged. So I don't see any great hype. The ones equipped with DOHC VTEC basically don't need turbo.

either way, wouldn't mind if they did make a factory turboed car :)

yeh as the other person said, strict emision laws in japan, will prevent this from happening look at the R35 skyline and the 350Z, seems the trend is to shy away from the turbo and look towards veriable valve timeing of some sort or another, so nissan's only what a good 15-16 years late on doing this???? lol

I think turbo's have a good future, however they require advanced EMSs that can ensure an even burn and not having cars running as rich (as some Nissans do). I relise this is done intentionally for logetivity, however its much harder to tune a turbo car (especially for economy) than it is a NA car. Adding boost just gives you more variables.

So if other manufactures aren't going the turbo path either, maybe Honda has a head start with its VTEC technology!?

Yeh the problem is that with a factory turbo car the manufacturer has to assume the driver wont know to cool down before stopping, how to treat the car, what different temps can do etc. SO they have to make them run rich up top to avoid detonation.

I suppose if they use rather advanced management systems they could make an almost idiot proof and reliable/lower emission car, but that could mean that factory turbo's of the future will be a bit more up market

Either way, the factory turbo certainly isnt dead.

Running rich is to prolong engine life.

one more chance

dude, when u make statements like that, you really need to show your sources. car companies are moving away from turbo cars and moving into atmo engined cars due to emission laws, especialy those in japan. i can't see a car company like honda going against the trend not to mention tradition.

I think they should make a limited number Superchaged S2000
or
Turbo Integra!

Fuk, even re-born the Prelude and make it a 2.2 Turbo V-tec
Then watch the sales!

Yep i reackon they should make a integra turbo... i wonder who cold possibly keep up then. I cant name a car :)

Integra V-Tec Turbo RWD or a Supercharged S2000
Both look good, and would be rockets from factory!

Now it's competition.
WRX, EVO, SS, XR-6 T, XR-8, Silvias, Skylines, etc..

But with the current emmission laws in Japan who knows the future, but i can't see Honda making the SC S2000 or Integra T :(
Wouldn't even mind a turbo Accord Euro :D

they might come out with turbo diesel engines as a option for some models.
i remember reading "along those lines" somewhere. and it makes sense with the future emission laws.

i'm thinking along the lines of TDi Civic sedan and/or TDi Odyssey.

McChook

TDi Hondas will be available here soon.

In the UK, if you are under 21, you can only drive a diesel car..... So honda need to crack that market

Well, I dunno

All I do know is that "Jenson Button was racing for BMW Williams" and he got busted "driving at 120mph" on the "A1 motorway" "driving a BMW Turbo Diesel" which "he had to drive under English law" - the cops then took him for a coffee after fining him......

Yah, I have heard this too

Honda all ready have a Real-Time (4WD) Euro accord remember - but in Japan only

The HOTTEST market in the world right now is the mid-size sedan, semi luxury japanese car division - Mostly between Honda (Euro/TSX), Mazda (6) and Subaru (Liberty/Legacy). These are the 3 biggest in the game, with the Nissan Maxima/Cefiro (FWD w/ VQ35) running behind, and toyota having NOTHING in the catagory - it is the sector with the most to gain without a real Toyota contender in the world market (in Japan, you would consider Altezza, maybe Mark2/Chaser and Aristo).
Hence why the Liberty, 6 and Euro are all such good looking cars with great value for money

Subaru have the WRX, but mos importantly, the Liberty/Legacy GT, which is an AWD 2.5l turbo sedan. Mazda are soon to be releasing their Mazda 6 with AWD 2.3l turbo...
Honda are believed to have build a contender, but nothing has yet been made offical nor a concept been released

The Liberty/Legacy GT are only 2.0L turbo, while the NA are 2.5 or 3.0.

Mazda 6 in Jap is called Atenza, hahah seem to list all the rest jap name variants apart from the Mazda so I guess I fill in the void. :p
