are 225's too big/wide for 16x6.5 wheels?
Currently have 205/55R16's on my stock DC5R wheels. Will i lose handling performance if i fit 225's?
Would appreciate if any DC5R owners running 225's on stock wheels can comment on this.

Not a DC5R owner but I run 225s on DC5R rims which is 6.5 inches wide.
6 to 8 inches are approved widths for 225 wide tyres.
One thing I will have to let you know is that the increase in weight which adds to your rolling resistance, wider thread do generally means better traction.

Keep in mind though u'll have to change the profile of the tyre as 55 will put your speedo out. Prolly have to change it to a 50 or so.
I just worked out 50 would still be way to big. 45 would be closer but slightly under size. Try the tyre size calculator posted here several times.
Not a DC5R owner, am DC2R owner.
told by streching tyre is good for handling.
i guess 225 will loose handling performance.( correct me if i'm wrong )

It will be fit but dont do it, just buy better quality 205 or if you must go wide 215 tyres for more traction.

Thanks guys. Yeh i think i'll get 205's again, don't want the tyres to stretch over the edge too much.
