Hey guys, i need to check if vtec is engaging in my B16A, how can I do this, is it possible to wire up a light or something that will show it?

Just need to check if it is working...

rev out the gear and you should hear vtec :D

or u could get a do luck vtec engagement light...

check in koncept racing in the traders section.

yeah i know i can hear it, but just want some other evidence...

Not really lookin to spend much money just to check if its engaging

Not quite true.

He is using Uberdata and had to wire A4 to D6 on the wiring loom, those numbers are off the top of my head so dont have a go at me if its wrong, i just cant remember right now..

There is a way you can wire up a light to see it engage and disengage, ill get back to you when i find the DIY article :)

wire up a multi meter to your VTEC Pressure Switch, set it to continuity,

when the engine is not in VTEC you will have Continuity, as you hit VTEC, the oil pressure will pass the spool valve and pressureise the VTEC pressure switch and continuity will go away.

wiring a globe to the vtec solenoid is ok, but just prooves electric are working.
