Hi guys first post :D
i just bought a 1996 Prelude vti-R
due to the fact that i cant get compo insurance i opted for 3rd party property because i am poor :( hehe
im worried about it getting stolen
whats the go with a fuel cut switch? is it hard to do or expensive or bad for the car?
thanks :D
if your poor u should of bought a cheaper car. Your gonna regret not having insurance. But if i was you id get a steering lock, an alarm, a handbrake lock, and any other lock you find.

ok ok i see
can you recommend me a brand for dual immobilizer? i have seen some good reviews for mongoose in particular
well you cant get any viper alarms casue most arent dual points. Ive got a mongoose myself in the same car. M60 model which is all you would need. About 400 or so installed. Make sure you go to a good place to install it. Thats the most important part. And also id reccomend to put an internal siren as well. Goodluck

A "Good" car alarm nowadays are not good enough, any professional car thief will still be able to get into your car and drive off in 30 seconds. Alarms going off nowadays is so common people don't really care about it anymore..
You can help prevent the car getting stolen by having a good steering lock or shift lock (if it's auto). It won't stop your car being ransacked but it will surely help protecting it from thieves driving away with it... That's the least you can do to protect your investment :)

find your main pgmfi relay, you can find the fuel pump power wire there, add a decent switch on it, from memory you can do this from the pasangers side of the car, but the relay can be found under the drivers side of the dash and the loom runs to the rear down the pasangers side of the car.
when you find the relay, pin 7 is the one that goes to the fuel pump, the pins are numbers on the relay itself.

5gens have a chipped key which is the immobiliser... spagz is a 1996 which makes it a 4th Gen, however.. dunno about the chipped key in that case.... (presume not)
