Hello boys and girls

I was at the fowles auction here in Brisbane today and came across a very nice example of honda machinery. It is in the damaged vehicle section so if you love your honda so much you can't look at a wrecked one please don't click the link. Those who do go and have a look at it can you please give me any more info if you have on the car. Mainly did you own it/know who owned it? How long ago was the accident? How it happened? and so on......

The car looks to me like a CXi (even the site says it is a CXi) but the thing is it has a B18C (i think, maybe i'm wrong) in it and my friend was sure it was a VTiR, so much so we called Honda on the spot with the VIN number and they told us it was sold as a genuine VTiR. So i'm a bit confused. It's an EK4 by the way if that helps.

So please have a look on the link below and hopefully you can help me out. Any info you guys wanna share is greatly appreciated so either pm me, leave a post here or send me an email on s_radic@hotmail.com.

Thanx for your help
Boban

PS: On another topic, what is a VEi. I also saw a sedan (eg shape) with a VEi badge, SOHC 1.5l engine with VTEC-E on the roccer cover, (the cover was black, my civic has a grey cover with just VTEC on it). Any info you guys have on this is also greatly appreciated

ok the vei civics stands for vtec economical. in other words if you where the sucker that bought a vtec-e thinking that you got power, well think again, vtec-e makes like 80hp and a carby honda can outrun it. its sole design was to save fuel by switching off the 4 valves, saving fuel, only when you give it, it switchs them on requireing more fuel, unlike normal vtecs which do the total opsite by pushing the valves more down for more air flow.
somehow i think this is gonna earn me a member pq point.

everything in a vtec-e engine is different. the intake is tiny, the pistons are different. the head design is different, and there is no mix of userable parts from vtec e to vtec. believe me i tryed. a carby engine has more hope with bolting on a vtec head. the vtec e only came out in the eg series,, namly the eh series. ve-i.

the accident looked like my car before i fixed it.. i guess he/she was gunning he civic and goin though a corner too fast..FF DRIFT yO~!
From the pic the dash has tacho, which factory CXI don't have.

properly change the brakes, but check if it has rear disc brake. CXI comes with Drum Brake from factory.

check if it has sway bar install, CXI don't come with sway bar.

The VEi VTEC-E motor is the same as the D15b VTEC motor except the head is slightly different and it makes 92Hp stock. They also safely rev to 8000rpm and can be a monster when turbocharged(which a lot of yanks seem to like doing)
