I would tend to think OBD2 as all AUDM 96+ were OBD2.

honda started switching to obd2 in the late 1995 model year, so the any 96+ car is going to be obd2, along with a small handful of the 95 cars

I've seen some completely stock 96 acuras with OBDI. 97 is when they were 100% OBDII.

when you say 96 ITR, is that JDM or AUDM ?
if you have JDM engine, then i belive you have use JDM ECU.
it is different between JDM and AUDM ECU. :o

the engine is JDM, i needed to know what OBD it was so i know if i need to change the harness or not, not use a AUDM ECU...

what i am trying say is, it is OBD 2 but jdm and audm OBD2 has little different wire diagam. far as i know. because, the experience from my friends case. he's engine is JDM 96 model as well, he coulden't use audm OBD2. so he used jdm obd2 instaed...
i am pretty much sure you need to use jdm ecu.

cheers...

that's dead right - MY1996 (Model Year) starts with cars made since september 1995.

so yeah anything that's a MY96 on is OBD2..

not sure when OBD2a / OBD2b (OBD3?) etc came out though.
