if you amp is 2 ohm stable then yes its ok.
You can leave 1 channel on a 2 channel amp, yes nothing is wrong with it. It's just like leaving the powerpoint clicked on, and nothing is connected.

yeh ive bought the sub already, not knowing it was dvc or anything, i didnt know ther was 2 models, its a clarion sub, SRW1283
yeh if i can find a monoblock for a reasonable price, but ive had the sub in my car with about 150wrms or lower and it sounded really good so not sure on how much power would be enough for me as that much was making my chest vibrate:)

if its a sub, normally you'd bridge both channels

yes, but its power is at 4ohm and wont go to 2ohm, so 1 channel would do 2ohm forme

what's your budget? 150wrms is aights for loudness, but u can have more power on tap to ensure cleaner sound and better bass, and it won't strain you amp.

You could get a mono from pioneer for $300 or so from JB i think..

Your best bet would be to purchase a monoblock as majority run at 2ohm.

as this is my first car and stereo, i dont think i would notice the difference between many amp, sound wise, i have 4 6"commodore speakers dual cone, and i think they dont sound that bad, i jus want them louder, but later on i wil get splits, that will be a big difference
