There are two holes in the side of your gearbox. The ower one is to empty to existing fluid, and the top one is to fill it up.

You will need some sort of pump to pump the fluid in there. I'm assuming its manual?

yeah chnaging gearbox oil is easy. I have the same car. U will need a 3/4" socket to undo the drain bolt. Then a 16/17? socket for fill bolt. U can either use a pump (they sell em at repco, long metallic cylinder that holds about 500ml) or a funnel with extended snout to reach the fill bolt.

Umm when i say 3/4" i mean u need a 3/4" drive head -- the drain plug isnt a normal bolt, it requires a 3/4" head to fit into it so u can turn it. i remmber i had this prob cause my socket set is 1/2" drive.

i found a diy on wrxnet

not sure if its still there, but basically it came with pictures etc.... basically put your car up on jack stands... get under the car, undo the bolts, and let the old fluid out :D

ok, im in the same situation... if ur not using genuine honda fluid its been recommend to use CASTROL VMX 80, it comes in 1 and 4 litre bottles, can be bought at Supercheap Auto from $12 - $37

or

API Service SG or SH rated motor oil SAE 10w - 30 or 10w - 40 temporarily

hope this helps

I strongly recommend if you care about your vehicle that you ONLY use genuine honda mtf plus available over the counter only at your honda dealership.

i paid $14.50 per 1 litre bottle of MTF Plus from a spare parts shop.

I think it's a 75/80 weight. If you have a manual, you shouldn't need more than 3 litres but do check before purchasing.

i am uncertain if there is a 4L container.

ok.. i know it sounds weird.. a good oil to use in you gbox is mobile 1 fully synthtic... i know alot of reputable honda builders use it.....
And for changing oil.. it simple.. u holes.. one out and one in... make sure your car is level............

all u should need is a funnel and a long rubber tube that runs oil to the bos.. dont need no pump for a honda.. u use pumps for rwd cause its in weird position and the oil wont climb up the hose...

honda can be poured throuh a hose.

I just changed my oil on the weekend; the easiest way to do it is just to get a long piece of tube and stick a funnel on the end. Run the tube through the engine bay and get one person to hold the tube in the filler hole and get another person to pour the oil down the tube. Then stop when it starts to spill out the top. And i also used CASTROL VMX 80
