coilovers consist of only the shocks/damper and springs. if u're not sure of where the creaking noise is coming from, there's really no answer to whether changing ur suspension will stop the noise. it could b anything tats making the noise now..from CV joints, shafts, brushes etc. why not get them checked properly..tat may avoid u spending on unnecessaries?
all the best :)

try bushes first, well check them first, retighten sussy bolts.
get underneath the car, and start shaking components by hand.

mechanics can help you, to a certain extent, but they can.

yup - as others have said - it souds like you have no idea what is wrong , and probably no idea how to rectify the probem urself.
Get yourself to a professional or a mate who has an idea where to look and fidn the problem :)

talking about creaks and stuff, i looked at an Audi today, trying to find a creak.. and the disc was loose., like loose, loose.
lol.
not good, but most creaks i have found, are bushes, especially dc2's and eg's.
they start off small then get really loud, as the bushing starts to tear away and then leaves no rubber left.

As others have said...most common creak related issues is to do with the bushes where the oil has dried up or just plain dirty, re-oiling them generally fixes the problem
