okay. so could the d16a8 fit in?

oh, and proecu i've been reading up on that link you posted above to endyn... wow there is some really awesome stuff there. i've always liked the idea of a supercharger, and they are achieving decent efficiency... can that be done here too? who has the know how?

cheers

yeh i also saw that add, good price for a top little car. apparently only the brown top zc from that model civic or from the 87-88 integra (popup lights) bolt in. whereas later model zc's need work, im guessing mounts.

they are the AF/AS models.
Depending on year of production the AF models usually came with two motors EW2 and EW5. EW2 was carburated SOHC 1.5, EW5 was EFi SOHC 1.5. the AS models which came out in 84 were also fitted with a D16A3 or browntop ZC. In 85/86 came the GL/Si - which was purely a ZC - possibly even a blacktop.

Yes - D16A8 will fit if the car came with a D16A3. If EW motor - you need to play around with engine mounts, possibly with Efi if the EW2 series.

the one you posted comes with a ZC - so thats a bonus.

Hope this helps?

'84 Civic and CRX were the AT and came with the 130ps motor (Si spec). Had a brown cover but was same output as the blacktop. Lisa Cooke in the NSWHCC owned an imported one - they were a beautiful car.

CRXs were AS in 84 and came with a 118HP Browntop ZC. :)

wasnt till 85 when the Si came out with the blacktop 130hp and matched the early 87/88 CRX Si.

as for the output of the browntop and the AS chasis bit :P I've got one sitting in my garage.

whats that a 160hp B16A? In that light thing it would kick major commodore a$$, nice pics :)

My cous had one of those which did almost 1million km, not bad cars. A 130hp D16A8 would also be great in there.

Gotta look out for rust when buying it tho (22yrs)...

:p wish i could tell you haha, its sitting there waiting to get fixed. Runs every now and then. Im currently waiting to replace the 'slow idle valve' as all the hoses were corroded and snapped off.

It will go... since its getting Supercharged :) 6psi but should be good still.

you sure can - HASPORT caters for just about anything. mounts, linkages, clutch conversion, harness even drive shafts I think... pretty much sorted!

I beg to differ (and you might want to check with McChook's mum and Martin Donnon who raced an '84 Si)... as of 1984/11 the Civic Si was designated EE-AT. Honda officially rated its ZC as 135/6,500 (PS, not BHP - but that still rates it @ 130 Bhp - not the gold-top spec.

Linky here: http://www.honda.co.jp/HOT/ModelData/civic/cv3-k-309/si_sy.html

Martin Donnon of Fueltronics got his to 200+ bhp and extensively documented the build from 130bhp to 200 from where it went to set class records for various hillclimbs. You can find some limited info on his buildup in the first of the FFor HF magazines - but I had the joy of watching his car smash Hillclimb records - and it was definitely an '84 AT.

Anyway - it's a moot point - they are up there with EFs as the prettiest Civics ever built - although a Mugen 1G is a sight to behold and the EGs only lose out because the Del Slow let down the build in being ugly and... slow. EM1s are in a class of their own ;)

Yeah - Hang on a second... :)

There is a difference between a Civic and a CRX and the models associated with each.
You said in 84 Civics and CRXs came out with a blacktop ZC and were the AT model.

I corrected that and said in 84 CRXs were AS and came out with a 118HP browntop ZC. Wasn't till 85 that they came with a blacktop ZCs.

Now the Civics in late (November 84) could have come out with the Blacktops already - hence the cars that were imported from late 84/early 85 could have very well had that option.

Its all good - just clearing it up and differentiating the differences... ;)

As it is: both the Civics and CRXs of the 80s were definatelly outstanding in terms of technology compared to some of the other vehicles of that time. Honda was definatelly thinking outside the box (still is).

BTW: ive got the only 84' AS 1.6 CRX in WA. :P
