my dyno run

Put my teg VTIR on the dyno today. Went with some mates with v8 commodores (VH through to VY).

I got 98.0 max. Air temp was at 32 C.

I was abit surprised by this with it being so hot, the only mods I have is an Xforce Extractors/ cat/ and twinloop.

Also i think the dyno was reading low as my mate with a VS SS got 11kw more on a diferrent dyno 2weeks ago (or maybe the other dyno was reading high)...

How does this compare to other peoples runs?
I'm hopeing that on a cooler day i can crack 100.....

I cant remember exact figures but by memory -

2 x VH's
one was a 308 worked got 178kw
other 308 just exhaust, but recently had an engine rebuild got 149kw

SLR 5000 Torano
stroked 350 got 162kw

VR SS
Cat back exhaust, Has fuel pump issue, got 131kw

VS SS
with Exhaust/extractors Got 147kw

VX SS Ute
Stock got 186kw

VU SS Ute
Exhaust / extractors got 202kw

VY SS ute
Exhaust / extractors / intake / ecu got 212kw

MR2
Exhaust / big intercooler/ bigger turbo / ecu got 134kw


So no real amazing figures....

I got 139.1HP on ITR, that's with headers, cat and air intake and the one of the lowest reading dynos in Perth.

im really surprised with the MR2...whats wrong with it?.. they should dyno almost that much stock.

ive seen them closer to 250 wit those mods but after they been tuned.
its easy to double the power in those things

Yes in shootout mode. Dyno dynamics shootout. It cost us $60 each, 3 runs each.....

Um it was an old MR2 (early to mid 1990's i think). Dont they have something like 130kw at the fly stock....

nah the turbo mr2s (89 - 93) make 165kw at the fly and the 93 - 98 turbos make 180kw.

usually put down 130ish stock at the wheels

all dynos can put out different readings, i have a 91 integra LS running b18a wiv headers,hi fow cat and advance timing, and i put down 88kw atw @6150rpm
sounds alot for what im running but i have the graph sheet to prove it :confused:

yeah thats the NA 3SGE... all mr2 turbos are grey imports (therefore not listed on drive.com.au) and come with either 165 or 180kw depending on the year

anyway, u got a nice readout. just wondering whats up with the mr2 thats all.

On the Dyno subject a mate of mine in an pulled 96.1 KW @ the wheels and i pulled 94.3kw @ the wheels on the same Dyno.
His car is a Integra VTiR B18 VTEC, only filter & Exhaust
Mine is a Civic VTiR B16 VTEC, Only Filter, Leads, Plugs & Cat Back Exhaust
pretty damn close results to me.

since we are all throwing numbers around, last year on the dyno all on the same day we had 2xb16a making 94kw 2xb18c2 making 96kw, type Rs that made 109,110 and 112kw and I made 104 with a JDM b18c all these engines were virtually standard (i had intake and catback, cant remember the others) there were a few other runs but i don't remember, and anyone who was there feel free to correct if i am wrong! oh and just for interest sake a 3.8 vr commy made 100kw 3 times, with a pod filter for one of those runs and made no difference..
