any amp is 2ohm capable but not all amps are 2ohm "stable", why dont u hook it up at 2ohms and see? if it start cutting out after few minutes of listening at high volumes then its overheating and cuts out...

I wouldn't do that too much, you can blow amps that way. Better to look it up. As Chan would say, "...save ur car, ur life and ur effort..."!

I looked for 10 min on Yahoo, Google, and Ask Jeeves and can't find audioline anything! Got a web site anyone?

I'm pretty sure monoblock amp should be stable @ 2ohms

you will find that "most" monoblocks will be 2 ohm stable.

thanks for all the input, i hooked it up 2ohm today and had it running up full for about an hour and a half and it didnt heat up very much, sounds so much better than 8ohm, so i think il be right, if it does over heat wil the amp jus shut down or wil it blow

Depends on the protection. Some amps will shut down and some low end ones will just die.

it says it has protection or something, so i thought it would jus shut donw, it cant blow if its not hot can it?

Sure it can. Just depends on why it blows. If you bridge the 12vpos and 12vground, boom! Also not good for the fuses and the battery. The fuses should blow and keep the amp safe but if the fuse is over rated, say you need a 25 amp and you use a 50 amp, then you could be screwed.

Look up the users manual and check. Better safe than owing your friend a new amp!

Yeah the Audioline AL6001 is a monoblock amplifier and will definitely run at 2Ohms. They are about 3 years old now or so. All Audioline monoblock amplifiers are 2 Ohm stable.

And Slowgsr, you wouldn't have heard of them because its an Australian based brand.

That would be a good reason!! Any web pages on them or from them?

That's what their products look like (in 04' and 05'). Pretty basic, entry level amplifiers.
