Hey guys,
Ive noticed recently that (sometimes) when i take off and the car just starts moving i hear a noise, its not a grinding noise but more of a creaking noise...
Its a 6sp manual, anyone have a clue what im on about?

A few Euro owners have had suspension noise issues, maybe thats what it is?

If it is on a flat road, better get it checked by the dealer.

I was just thinking that it sounded like a spring being compressed or something like that.
But ive lowered my car

Sounds very similiar to my noise. Sounds like a creaking noise sorta like a spring compressing I guess. Does it do it around corners too? Does it come from front or rear? Mines from the rear, but I also have an intermittant clunk noise from the front corners.

You could try spraying some silicon grease in the suspension joints and maybe the spring bases, and see if that helps

could be your sway bar....
have u scraped the underbelly of ur car recently? or hit a bump a bit hard?
usually when the rear sway bar gets bent it makes a creaking sound similar to that of a spring compressing....
i remember when i took my car on a camping trip, thru a dirt road that had like ground clearance for 4wd...i ****ed my sway bad badly and it creaked all the way home....

I agree it could be swaybar as well as the springs, as swaybars must be well greased between it and the bushes.
Don't know if you have aftermarket swaybars, but a little while after I installed some, it made a creaking noise so loud that I took it to a suspension shop to check, in case my suspension was failing. Turned out a bit more greasing did the job.
If you don't have aftermarket swaybars nor bent them as random804 said however, I don't really see how this could be a problem so it might be something else? :O

i have this same issue... creaking noise... especially when im going in or out of a driveway on an angle... sometimes it even sounds like the chassis is twisted.. i was going to get Honda to look at it on next service

They probably didnt use enough glue and resin to hold the body joints together when they built it.
you sure the euro's are not made in korea?

Does your rear creak happen when you take off? So far the rear creak only shows when you go over large speed bumps, turning as you go up ramps or on uneven road. http://ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?t=15092&highlight=creak

It can happen anytime there's flex, but usually around off camber corners and angled on speed humps. Honda have looked at it twice so far.

If they still can't fix it for you, then spray WD-40 at this spot:

It's the left side of the boot. Get the WD-40 into the gap between the 2 sheets of metal and you're all set for the next year. Spray more if it comes back.

Thx Aaron. I have sprayed some WD40 in there before but it may have been the wrong spot (I was in a rush) so I'll give it another go. These days I just turn the radio up and I can't hear it ;)
Something I should add is each time after Honda look at it it ok for about a week. They say they keep lubing and tightening the "suspension components".

LOL @ suspension components... Well, one other way is to PM the other Euro owners in the GC to find out if any of them had their creak successfully repaired and then go to the same dealer that they used.

I sprayed lube on that spot in my car as per Aaron's instructions a few weeks ago and the sound hasn't come back since... Give it a go! :)

I got my creaks fixed [see my previous post for info on where] - this included rear shelf from around that metal thing, plus also the infamous door buzzing (it was related to the electric window). Had my car in for 3 days; they did a fantastic job.
They want you to go for a road test to establish the noise; cat eyes on the eastern freeway did it for the door, but the rear shelf was not reproducible. Nevertheless, they took it apart, rewelded and reassembled - problem gone. My euro is absolutely a thing of beauty now, very happy! :) There might be the faintest of zzzs from side door in certain conditions at 10% of the previous volume, but this could very well be other things and is something you have to concentrate hard to hear. Over concrete road surfaces the car is just dead silent compared to before.
Level of service and professionalism is remarkable; with all the money they've spent on their upgrades, it's good to see what's come out of it. I'll be servicing my Euro there for as long as I live in a practical distance.

Congratulations on your rattle fixes!
I just pulled my power window switch on the front passenger side, tightened it and put some masking tape to get a secure fit. It's silent now! BTW, if anyone in Sydney has the power window switch rattle/buzz, let's have a get together on the usual Friday meets to fix it up.

Just bumping this for a reason.
We finally found the problem, it was the thurst bearing. Its getting replaced next week, thought this might help

maybe its because a cat is trapped in your rear deck?
