looking at upgrading my car very soon, and was wondering are the dc5r integras worth the money that they are fetching?
just calling out to some owners and what they have thought of the dc5r!
thanks

took mine to track last sat, amazing handling. its not so better than the 2Rs but no matter how hard you throw it around the corner. it will turn!

Sitting in comfortable Recaro's, Steering a Leather Mono Wheel, Stopping on 300mm front brakes, STOCK!! Take it from a DC5R owner. I'd say it's worth it.

Out off all honesty,
You will not be disapointed with any integra let alone a Type R. It all comes down to personal preference, needs and requirements. These days for the money, a low km's DC5R is great value for money. None the less take a couple for a drive, and if you can, take a DC2R for a drive.. Both have pro's and cons and come down to opinion. Let us know how you go...

bang for buck mods are better done on the DC5R, due to its bigger engin. and its a newer looking car as well.

Mate DC5 are great, they are a very good car, very good engine to mod, i think maybe one of the easiest honda engine to mod and get substainial [speeling owns me]gains from.
the non type r's are good already, and all i can say about the dc5r is that there even better.

they are wicked cars. when i bought mine i drove heaps of stuff 350z rx8 wrx 200sx etc and yeah they were faster and i guess generally handles better but the type r was heaps of fun, was cheaper for insurance, fuel (depending how often you vtec) and i just couldnt go past those recaros. i did drive a dc2r as well but i have always preferred the shape of the 5.

depends on what are you looking for.......DC2R are raw, racing machine....a lot of engine and road noise but they are quick and great handeling...
As a DC5R owner....I can tell you when you get one......you will never turn back.....great fuel economy........great comfort Recaros....compare to 2Rs......less road and engine noise.......and better view....as they are sitting a bit higher.....for a car under 30k...you get recaro....6 speed close ratio gear box.....LSD......climate control AC.....S2K brakes.....what do you want more.....and a lot of stuff to mod....as the JP tune up companies still investing more new part for it.....unlike the DC2Rs......hope that helps.....

love my DC5R. can't think of owning any other car ...at least not until the next supra or rx7 comes out.

in terms of performance, DC2R, DC5R and DC5S are pretty much on par, stock for stock in a straight line and around corners - at least that was what motor magazine found when they ran the three against eachother, so just base your purchasing on your other preferences - styling, modifications, feel and all of the above comments from others.

yeh motor magazine and they all came out nearly dead even.
ive heard the dc5r is more comfortable but depends on what your after.
dc2r is a like a street legal track car where as the dc5r takes comfort into consideration aswell as speed and style.
the k series engines will respond better to light bolt on mods more than the b18c7 will, such as CAI, exhaust, etc.
personally im a dc2r person but i had a look inside a dc5r the other day and they are just as nice on the inside as they are on the outside

I have owned a few quick cars (350hp rx7 etc), and I can honestly say that the DC5 Type R is the most fun to drive and best car I have owned. It is comfortable yet has some power there when needed.

Only problem is once you start modding you cant stop :(

Its all about what you want/need. Some people need a car with lots of power that are heaps fast in a straight line and can 'decimate all' at the lights.

Whereas there are other people like us here who are much happier with a car that rewards us with total balance and handling. - and those Recaros, nuff said.

Like everybody else said......DC5R is a fun car to drive. Lot comfy compare to DC2R. Easier to drive on a daily basis mainly due to it's extra torque.

hmmmmmmmm.......... then should i start? hehehehehe
yeh hey... cos some times u have to get the lot if u wana have one thing.. like

Spoon calipers* u need bigger offset to clear it so RAYS added.
Air Intake, was thinking abt mugen is the best until i read abt GruppeM, then i can buy the Mugen exhaust plus TOda headers to gain more power...
TAKATA.. DEfi ( do i need them?)
Tein SS.. (the oem suspension is abit too stiff) and the EDFC? hahah
Front bar and rear sway bar ( makes it handle better)
VAFC II... ( Vetc at 5500 RPM)
New ECU? (where is it anyway?)
HID? (Make it 9000K geeeee i cant see)

and the list goes on....

How abt the Engine?? ;) i think i will leave it as it is...

cheers

god...another DC5R....everyday i look at integras outside my house already....and 50% of my friends have DC5R....but i still like them...its a great site...

just depends on wot u want from ur car...if u don't wanna spend too much modding up ur car but still want the speed and performance..get DC2R...otherwise DC5R will kill most cars on the streets already stock...but if u wanna do up a DC5R...u'd want to put genuine mod parts in there....otherwise it mite look a bit cheap....but genuine parts are very very expensive...

and er...hard to find a gd condition DC2R to buy...i've tested a few out for some friends..either they are gd condition and expensive...or cheap...but beat down big time....

in conclusion..if i were u..i'd get DC5R hahaha

just on a short note how quick is a DC5R from 0 to 100kph ive seen a few web pages that say that a DC2R is about 6.5 seconds...

VTECfreak

in Wheels/Motor test where they tested all 3, they pulled a 6.9 in the DC5R. I've only timed my car once and pulled a 7.1...thats using the stop watch on my mobile.

iv owned a dc2r and a now i got a dc5r..my opinion
in stockwise the dc2r is a much better enthusiast car than a dc5r. when i drove my dc2r i felt like God on the road, the car had a great feel great sound screaming out of the engine. its tuned just like a race car and i dont think you can get any closer than that on any other car for that price. to me the dc5r does not live upto the Type R name. its great for everyday driving, love the gear box, love the handling, the power from the ivtec especially but just doesnt do enough for me. i reckon if they made stiffer suspension, lower ride, took out sound restricters maybe itl deserve the R. hence i still love my dc5r because it just looks sexy.
