Hey guys,

Bought my '90 Accord some months ago and what was first a slightly rusty normal sounding exhaust is now a broken, holey, shit sounding exhaust lol..

Had some fun on some steep hills in Pennant Hills a few weeks back and when my ass hit the ground, the exhaust got a hole in it.. It isnt distinctive but basically.. the exhaust is ****ed cat back.. The pipe seems to be intact but apparently according to my last mechanic it would need to have been replaced within the year anyway..

I was wondering if anyone could give me reccomendations and quote me semi-standard prices for a new exhaust catback with a nice-ish tip on it.. I aint looking for a performance exhaust but if it sounds alright and Im not losing power from it then that is what im after..

I dont have a specific budget because if Im going to get this done I want it done well and for it not to be limited..

amato2 from the forums earlier on reccomended a 2.5" Mandrel Bent exhaust with a twin tip but I had some quotes on that and quite frankly most exhaust shops reckon it wasnt worth it.. 2.5" is too big for my car apparently..

Any reccomendations and quotes guys? Also any exhaust places in Sydney that you reccomend?

Cheers

go 2.25" press bent cat back with resonator and your choice of rear muffler.

Any ideas of how much that would cost?

2.25" sounds good for me..

Edit:

Got quoted $350 for a 2.25" Cat back mandrel bent with resonators...

Is this pricey or worth it?

You haven't got a clear budget so I'll recommend a 2 1/4 inch mandrel bent system coupled with a nice Magnaflow muffler to end the system...

You'll be looking at around 400ish to 500... for the system considering the MagnaFlow muffler along takes up the bulk of the price... If that is too much, you can consider a cheaper alternative to the exhaust, ie. Redback, Walker, Lukey or X-Force etc....

350 sounds good for mandrel bent system with the resinators... does it come with anaftermarket muffler.,. what type etc.. id reccomend the oval style mufflers from magnaflow if u have the $$ or grab yourself a xforce twin tipped oval muffler around 200 bux for dat. try get a package with the exhaust place.. and dont be scared to bargain a little

Yer cheers mate.. I havent questioned too much about the muffler yet but id probably like to go in and have a look what theyve got as it is...

Right now.. even the new exhaust without a muffler at all would be better than what mine is :P But obviously this is not an issue because muffler is a must..

For the record guys (pardon the poor quality pics, bad angles, and light polution.. its the best I could do from under the car on a Sunny day) this is what the muffler looks like lol...

Id consider it almost.... Vile..

Firstly it was rust, and then hitting certain things has just made it give in..

To be honest its not spitting out any unusual smoke at all, just rattles like a mofo :|

why not just pick up an ok one from the wreckers for the time being? shouldnt cost too much. i'd say around $50
