i'll stand by pioneer for head units. kicker for subs and amps. pioneer subs are ok but you need a lot to make good noise. thats only what i have used to date :)

From experience, you'll have to use your ears to judge and select what type/brand of speakers/subs for your new set up/system, you also need to select your shop who can alocate time for you to audition the speakers/sub you wish to purchase. To make it go hard, It'll depend on your budget, you'll have to invest on high wattage amplifier. ALL brand mentioned above will perform superbly well, but it will all rely on your budget. A good shop should be able to assist you on how to spend your budget to the sound that you want for your system. Its just a matter of patience to get your new system up and runnin' im sure you've experienced it from your previous set-up.

Stick to the brands you're already using. Which JL amps and subs are you using? It all depends on your budget with JL Audio though.

vi-tekken, are you looking for a larger amplifier to run your subs only or to run the whole system?

u could upgrade to another amp to run ur new subs and keep ur amp now to run ur speakers
