ek4 short shifter rattling

hey guys

my friend installed skunk 2 short shifter in his ek4 and he says it makes rattling noises.
anyone know what causes this?
also since the rattling noise is giving him the shit, he want to sell it.
i would like to buy it, if the problem can be fixed
can someone help me out?

id say its the bottom of the shifter or shift linkage actually touching against the exhaust piping or heatshield below.
You fix it by moving the piping down or but using a different type of shifter :)

so how do u move the exhaust piping down? new mounting brackets?

and is skunk 2 meant to be heaps firm? i found that shifting became really firm in my friends car

as above its hitting the exhaust... this can be done by either using different rubber hangers or bending the arm..

All this is apart of getting a short shifter.. shifting is normally abit harder too.

It shouldnt be too firm. If its too firm they tigtened the bolt too tight..
Loosen it then it abit. Its should be a non slip nut meaning it should never fall off, even if you loosen it
