hey ppl!! i own crx 93 model b16a, i started my car this morning and heard tappin noise comin from the engine i open the bonnet anditwas comin from the intake manifold area where the fuel rails are, sound preety bad to me, does anybody know what it could be " TAPPING NOISE"???

sure you just dont have noisy tappets?

i think you mgiht find using a thinner oil will make the tappets quieter

either tappets or injectors tapping away....dont think its anything to worry about.
Goes away once the oil has reached its working temp im sure u will find

You just need to warm it up and it should be fine.

yeh mine does that also, but then goes away when engine is warmed up. ;)

what causes these noises guy is it anything to be worried about, looks like it only happen in tha morning. ta for replies guys

Probably just the injectors doing its job.
Noise goes away after car is warm? Isnt it

I have a 89 crxhf, stock, mine does it too, goes away when warm, mine was worse with castrol in it, you may find different brands affect it, nothing to worry about though, once it all warms up your cool, I tried to adjust my valves and found that my clearances were all fine, just a noisy motor when cold.

Yeah its probably just the tappets.

Mine was mega noisy on cold start, I got the tappets adjusted today and its made a huge difference. Almost sounds like a new engine now :)

But what I find strange is that the idle revs are now running a bit lower :confused:
