ok so here is my situation. car is a ek sedan 1999

i want my car practical but hot looking.

i want to either get 16' or 17' wheels. What are teh chances of 17's scrubiing? and the 16's

with superlows? and lows?

if i use superlows will my car be at legal height? with either 16' or 17' wheels

if i use just plain jane lows. how do you think the car would look on 16' or 17' rims.

is there a spring that is between low and superlow?

with kign springs how much of a drop is superlows 35 - 40mm? and is lows 30mm?

overall what do you think would be the better looking. 16' rims with superlows or lows. or 17's with lows or superlows?

with the most practicality. and no tyre scruabge. and be legal height... i live in qld

any other sugestions?

im running on 205/40 on 17" peddere as well.. front dump on 2.5 and rear 2"
no problem ~ only deep ramp or speed hump can be a biacth~ take it easy :p
my height is around 10-13cm off the ground..

legal height in NSW is abt 100mm.. im not sure abt your QLD~ .. hope that will help *cheer*..

edited... running wif OEM shock can be a really boucing ride..

In regards to rims, there are a few things you need to look at:

- wheel width
- offset
- tyre size

Depending on what you go with and how low you make your car will effect if you scrub your guards.

Mate, I'd look at saving a bit more and going for a decent set of coilovers. That way you can set the car at whatever height you want - slam it on it's ass for photoshoots, and raise it for daily driving.

I have King super lows, koni shocks and 17s with 205/40 rubber. I have a problem with scrubbing, but that's because I haven't rolled the front guards yet.

I wish I didn't get impatient and saved the few axtra bucks and gone for some Tein SS coilovers....

y does everyone use kings? just get custom kmacs or something. that way u will get watever height you want.

I agree with DomenEK. Go with coilovers. With a drop of about 2" at the front you may need to get the guards rolled.

yeah. im not after really wanted to roll guards or anything. ( not sure what involved with it.
where can you get custom kmac srpings in qld?

anyone delt with tempetyres? can you tel them what offset and so forth you need?

i was just thinking get the 16's drop it on lows. or if i can find a wheel inbetween lows or superlows.

or just fark the police. and get superlows.

i got 17s on mine and only ever get slight scrubbing taking corners faster than i should in the first place. Id love to lower my car too but my mechanic reckons he wont pass it for rego if i do. Still, should be able to squeeze a couple of inches out of it hehe.

what is yours lowerd on?

with geting new rims i sit on 14's wheels. so if i get a wheel 2inchs bigger

does my car grow two inchs higher of the ground?

Is there a spring you can get that is inbetween lows and superlows?

i can see superlows being way to unpractical lol

if i got low springs can you get shock that will lower the car another couple mm or so?

or would it be best to get rims first then work out how high the car sits?

i got the same problem. I have lovell sport lows, kyb shocks and 17s 205/40 but offset is a bit bigger (+42) so it scrubs when i corner hard specially when the car is full.

Would that be legal and easy to roll the guard? that's what the suspension guy suggested to me too. Will it also affect the ride quality or whatever?

sorry to hijack

lovell sport low lowers ur car by 30 mm from factory height, that's for ek1
but it should be between 30 - 45 mm.

And yeah, should get the wheels first. That's what I did anyway, all in one day ; )
