Wondering whether anyone can help me. I wish to change the standard 16x6.5 alloy wheels to crome ones.

If I select larger rims, say 17x7, do I need to also change the tyre profile from current 55 to 45?

From those of you who have up-graded wheels, are there any pitfalls I should look out for?

Also, as I wouldn't need a spare set of rims, is there a market for used standard Honda rims which are in good conidition?

Your advise would be much appreciated.

Cheers

I'd stick to the same overall diameter so that the speedometer stays accurate.

So from 205/55 R16, you can use:
205/50 R17 (0.78% error)
215/45 R17 (-1.04% error)
225/45 R17 (0.38% error) - You'll need 17x7.5 at least for this width

All the info you can ever want on tyres is here: http://www.chris-longhurst.com/carbibles/tyre_bible.html

The Luxury models now run 225/45 R17 on a 17 x 7, so you shouldn't have a problem.

You won't have a problem with any of those. I run 18x7.5 et48 with 235/40/18 tyres. You will however notice a little change in the ride with the lower profile but its not that bad.
