Both of those are SS Autocraps Mani's and are ok for me to poop on. I have one of those beefed up because I was lazy and didn't want to measure, bend, measure again, cut, weld, and fit. So I beefed it up, cleaned it up, and it works great, not as good as the custom one made off the SS's specs but oh well.

any manifold that's shaped like that is ssac... I've never seen any other manufacture make a manifold that's even remotely shaped similar
that said, I do know a guy that'll make replacement manifolds for the poor people that bought ssac manifolds... actually made of high quality parts, and are a direct bolt up so you don't have to change all sorts of stuff around
sorry to hijack your thread.. but i noticed this on the site..

Are you f*cking retarded or something? You know nothing about turbos or manifold design yet you exclaim 'it seems', in a thread which is clearly stating that ALL bling bling shiney steel (these arnt stainless) are crap.
You mean, its cheap, so it must be good right? I can garentee you know, every single peice of crap sold on www.theturboshop.com.au is chinese made and is not even worth its weight in scrap metal.

Dude, that kit costs 1,500 dollars.
A Garrett GT turbocharger costs that.
A Trust turbo costs upwards of 2,000.
.... the reason why these companies charge that kind of price for their products is because they have actually spent time researching, engineering and developing, marketing and improving on their products.
I am sure that anyone here could design, build and create their own turbocharger. But it would be about as effective as the one in that kit.
The manifolds are universally accepted to be an absolute complete pile of shit that is good for one thing, a paper weight.
OzHonda.com has countless threads about SSAutoChrome.
Honda-Tech.com has countless threads about their products that have failed during regular use.
They have an unlimited replacement warranty for their parts. And I'd be led to believe that if you offer an unlimited replacement warranty for what you sell, it is VERY cheap to produce, and you know for a fact that you're going to have issues with reliability. So you offset that by giving the consumer some false sense of security.

end of story is that there is no way to find a new item thats cheap and quality, you iether pay the dollar for proper brands or spend the same amount on replacing cheap shit over and over.

The only way i know of getting cheap and quality is scouring ebay/oversea's forums and importing goods urself. if u know the in's and out's u can get cheaper then retail... or use Jimmeh @ dnaracingworks.com ( sales@dnaracingworks.com ) who will do all the work for u....

lets put it this way... those chinese made turbos are probably higher quality than the manifolds. For every 1 person that doesn't have a problem with them, 10 do.

True i guess.
I bought them from a group buy which there was around 20 bought in total. No one had any major issues. I guess it's luck...
wow.. that was a extreme reply.. I was really just referring to the price.. ie if you didnt have a lot of money to spend it'd a cheap way to get forced induction.. no need for the personal attacks

you'll end up spending more money that way... once on all the ssac stuff, then on a new engine because something broke, then on a real turbo set up

Yes i know rwd sr20 owners love the manifolds. Its pure luck really, the design of the manifold seems to compliment the design and positioning of the turbo. Putting even stress on all the joints not highlighting all the flaws in the construction and design. Needless to say, im sure a log manifold would perform better then one of these. the collectors are horendous.

i had to be firm because i bet some newbie wh0re would of mis-quoted you in another thread. 'this guy said the manifold was quality' etc.
I told you the cheapest way to get into turbo honda:
