97 CRX - Shocks & Brakes Replacement

Up for replacement of the above in the next few thousand kays for my 97 CRX... Just want some people to reccomend best value for money on the above, because im going to get a budget together for these parts in next month or so!

Basically, how much am i looking at for a decent set of shocks, something that will accomodate a lowered car?

And a decent set of brake pads, with better stopping power and longer lifespan than standard...


Can anybody reccomend anything, and best place to buy them!

replace your front brakes with ITR spec calipers and rotor's. 300 bux
then get full coilovers, new LCA's and thicker rear sway bars. 1400 bux

then you can take 90degree corners at 290km/h and come to a complete stop in 1.3secs :)

if you're going to go for a larger rear sway(which I also highly recommend), make sure you get something that reinforces the rear subframe, as they're prone to being torn out when you put a larger bar on them.

I don't like how that one mounts to the subframe though... looks like a recipe for disaster

interesting... saxman I think you once said that also the rear bar when removed can take off .2 seconds of a 1/4 time... pretty sure it was you, someone from the states with crx... is this true? if so what did you do to fix this prob? plastic sheet moulding?

Btw, rear subframe, would any aftermarket rear sway have anchor points to sus-chassis like the above? or are there specific sways that directly line up. What is the diff between your pic as above and z3lda's anchoring?

yes, removing the rear bumper will make a big difference in 1/4 mile times. The rear bumper is like a huge parachute. The answer is to either fabricate a rear diffuser/something to keep airflow from going into the bumper, or holes in the bumper to let it out.

as for the rear subframe, only some rear sways come with proper hardware to reinforce it. You have to do some searching to find out what works best.
