Hey guys... Kinda new to this site and have been bitten by the modding bug. Hoping you can help :)

wondering whether many of you here have done over your front grill??

I've read most of the DIYs at clubcivic.com and pretty much know how to go about it. This one here:

LINK TO WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT (http://www.clubcivic.com/board/showthread.php?t=59181&highlight=ek+grill)

However.... most people who do this have a colour matched grill mouth already.

I have gold badging and trim on the grill around the edges. Is it possible do you think to just repaint my existing grill mouth??

Or would you say that it's better to check out a wreckers for a matching grill mouth for my colour car??

Suggestions please....

I've done mine but I used some drilled mesh in mine insted of the expanded mesh. its a bit different to the "Type R" look

Looks good .

You could always get a replica grill or pick one up from a wreckers (although I am not sure what they charge ).

You can use the EM1 (VTIR Coupe) grills if you have a 99-00 front end it’s the same as the Type R. pity it doesn’t fit the 96-98 front end.

I doubt wreckers are going to have the 96-98 type R grill in an Australian wrecking yard but you might find a replica. I guess it would just take some hunting around Honda wrecking yards

thanks somewhat.... but none of you answered my question

I wanna know whether it is possible to sand down my existing gold plated grill and paint it to match?

If not I will try and find an already existing colour matched grill from a wreckers...

thoughts?
