Slipping Alternator Belt

Was just wondering if a slipping alternator belt affects anything apart from how well it charges the battery.

Would it affect idle?
Does it affect the ignition system?

no it wont. either tighten it up or recondition the alt, as its starting to sieze up.

Note: without having proper charge other things can 'seem' they like are effected, but its just because they arnt working correctly because of the power issues. Ie False alarms.

it can affect fuel economy but thats another matter (loose belt, not a slipping belt).
